ACI Singapore raises $870,000 as it celebrates 25 years of charity fund-raising
Charity Fund Raising has been a major activity of ACI Singapore for over 25 years, and this has yielded well over $10 million for charitable causes over the years.
To commemorate the 25th Anniversary of the ACI Singapore Charity Golf and Gala Dinner, ACI Singapore hosted a full day Charity Golf Event on 23 July 2018 at the Singapore Island Country Club which was supported by 170 golfers. In order to enable non-golfers to participate, a Charity Golf Gala Dinner was then held 3 days later at the Ritz Carlton Hotel which was attended by over 550 golfers, members and their guests. The Guest of Honor for the event was our Singapore Deputy Prime Minister and Co-ordinating Minister for Economic and Social Policies, and Chairman of the Monetary Authority of Singapore, Mr Tharman Shanmugaratnam.
It was a wonderful evening of celebration as more funds were raised for charity, and members were able to catch up with old friends, reminiscent of the good old times when close and regular networking was the norm in our industry.
While everyone enjoyed the celebration, charity and support to the needy & less fortunate in our society was very much at the heart of the event. The 2 day 25th Anniversary Charity Golf & Gala Dinner this year raised $870,000 in gross donations, well surpassing the amounts raised in recent years. The proceeds will be channeled to 8 Charities, with the majority to the poor & needy, the sick, elderly and young children from poor homes. This year we also decided to add a small portion in support of education and the arts in Singapore.
It was a proud but most meaningful occasion for ACI Singapore, as members celebrated the spirit of Charity & helping those less fortunate in our society.
