Important Annoucement !
We are pleased to report that the Management Board through the Selection Committee is now ready to announce the successful candidate for the above captioned position to Council, after months of reviewing and interview.
The successful candidate is Mr. Kim Winding Larsen.
Kim is well known to many people within ACIFMA but for those that aren’t aware Kim is a career Danske Bank employee having started in the early 1980’s as a Bank assistant before working his way up to the position of a Dealer in 1987 in the Danske Bank Markets division in the Head office. From here his Banking career took him to London before heading back home to take on the position of Head of domestic Money Markets and Chief Dealer from 1990’s to 2000.
Over the next decade Kim held various Senior positions in Danske Bank Markets covering: Money Markets, Repo- & Short Bond Markets, FX & IRS Swaps and Treasury short funding desks as his career developed within the Danske Bank Group culminating in him being promoted in 2006 to a Member of Danske Banks ALCO Board and current position of First Vice President at Danske Bank FI&C. Throughout his career Kim attended external leadership courses in Switzerland and Denmark.
Kim Winding Larsen has been President of ACI Forex Denmark since 2001, a former European Regional ACI President, and a keen participant in many of our former and current ACIFMA working groups including the RWG and MMLWG (to name just a few). Kim also holds positions in external working groups and he is a member of the “Scandinavian FX Committee for the Global Code” formed by the Scandinavian Central banks.
The new President Delegate for ACIFMA, Kim Winding Larsen, has stated: "Thanks for the trust Bruno and Jack. It is a great honor for me to be responsible of the global work within ACIFMA. ACIFMA was established in Paris back in 1955 and has always been known for: Membership, Ethical Conduct and Education. To me, ACIFMA has one of the strongest education platforms in financial markets, offering a suite of specialised examinations and continuous training and certification via the ELAC online portal, in a time when the new "FX Global Code" has increased the need for more education tools in the financial markets. We will in the future invest more time to develop this fantastic ACIFMA education platform in order to support and help our international ACI members in the regulatory space. I look forward to taking on new challenges on my new role as President Delegate of ACIFMA."
The Chairman of ACIFMA, Bruno Langfritz expressed his views on Kim's appointment: "I am very excited to welcome Kim Winding Larsen as the new President Delegate of ACIFMA. I have known him for over 15 years, and I am confident that his professional expertise and his engaging personality makes him the perfect fit."
Dear councillors thank you for supporting the decision that the Selection Committee Chair Mr. Stephane Malrait and the Management Board have made. Kim will start his role on 2nd September 2019.
Please welcome Kim as our new ACIFMA President Delegate.
